documenting the journey from notes app poetry to musical stories
INTRODUCTION
A quick hello from Carly, Sam and Noah Jax
Hi there! I wanted to take the opportunity to introduce the three main contributors to this project - myself, my cousin(-ish) Carly, and her little toddler Noah Jax.

I am a 26 year old music production student living in Belfast. My favourite things are playing bass, cooking for my friends, and freshly poured pints of Guinness. My favourite character from Paw Patrol is Everest!

Carly is a teacher and mummy who recently moved back from Mallorca after living there for five years! She loves Cargo coffee, writing poetry and parallel parking. Her favourite Paw Patrol pup is Rubble!

Noah is 2 years old and is just buzzing about life. He loves his best friend Ash, hunting for bugs in the park, and blaming all the mess he makes on the elusive "ova boy". His favourite Paw Patrol pup is Marshall!

This project began with Carly writing poems for Noah Jax about all the experiences he was having and the excitement he found in every day. While she daydreamed about the possibility of turning the poems into a book; I daydreamed about incorporating music and sound design in some way. We realised that this was a project we were both really passionate about bringing to life, and decided to work together (with Noah's help, of course) on what will become an immersive audiobook for children, called Great Big Poems For Tiny Wee People.

This blog will document our journey from January 2021 - where I find inspiration for the music; capture field recordings; compose each piece; how we record the vocals, and how it all (hopefully) comes together in the end as an immersive listening experience for children.

We hope you enjoy!
